The Hartsville Track & Field team spent part of Spring Break competing in the All American Track Classic in Columbia, SC. The All American Track Classic is one of the premier track meets in the southeastern United States. More than 3,000 athletes competed over the course of the three day event. Athletes from South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, and more came to Columbia to compete. Some events were divided into three categories, JV, invitational, and championship level. The championship events were the most elite events of the meet. Tramarion Grant started the meet on Thursday with a big win in the Long Jump Invitational, jumping a new personal record of 6.46m. On Saturday, Chassidy Johnson claimed the bronze medal in the championship discus competition and extended her HHS school record with a mark of 38.43m. After St. Mary’s Ryken opened the scoring in the fourth inning, Hartsville answered in the bottom half. Red Foxes Track & Field Claims Victory in Darlington Last night the Hartsville High track & field team traveled to Darlington High to take on South Florence, Darlington, The Governor’s School, and Virtus Academy. Both the boys & girls teams pulled off the team victory. The Foxes totaled 16 event wins throughout the night and many set new personal records or season best times. The boys team was led by Drew Davis who won the 400M dash and 200M dash, Aaden Starnes who won the shot put and discus competition and Kylif Miller who won the long jump and triple jump competition. The girls team was led by Shalaye Jenkins who won the 400M dash and 200M dash and Reagan Reed who won the 1600M run, 800M run in addition to running the first leg of the 4x800M relay.
